Covid-19 Vaccination Programme 2021

COVID-19 (coronavirus) is a highly infectious disease which can cause serious illness, hospitalisation and even death. COVID-19 vaccines offer protection from COVID-19. If you do catch COVID-19 after vaccination, you should be protected from the serious illness the virus can sometimes cause.

People who are most at risk from COVID-19 will be vaccinated first. The next group to be vaccinated will be people aged 85 and older. The HSE expect this to start during February and subsequently, the COVID-19 vaccination will be offered to more groups as soon as possible.

We will be contacting our patients over 70 in the coming weeks to book an appointment to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, beginning with those aged 85 years and older. The rollout of vaccinations will commence as soon as possible following the arrival of vaccines at the surgery.
