Visitors from the UK: Ireland has a reciprocal agreement with the UK which means that UK residents on a temporary visit to Ireland are entitled to receive general medical services* on the production of specified documentation e.g UK passport, UK Driving Licence number, National Insurance number, NHS number.
Visitors from the EU: Visitors from the EU or EEA who have a valid EHIC card from that state are entitled to receive general medical services* during their temporary stay in Ireland.
(*This service is treatment required to allow visitors to continue their temporary stay in Ireland before returning home as planned.)
Visitors from Outside EU: Visitors from the rest of the world, who have a valid travel insurance policy, may be entitled to some reimbursement for medical expenses by their insurer on return home. We will be happy to provide a receipt at the time of payment which can then be presented to your insurance company.
