Cervical Smear Update

We are aware that many of our patients are awaiting smear test results.  Currently, the average length of time for return of results is between 10 and 12 weeks.  The reason for this delay is the significant increase in the number of smear tests being taken in the last 6 months in response to the cervical check issues earlier this year.

We do continue to strongly support the cervical screening programme in encouraging all eligible women between 25 to 60 years to have regular smears, reducing the incidence of cervical cancer.
