Visit to Scoil Naomh Eltin

At the invitation of Scoil Naomh Eltin, and to mark “The Hospital and Taking Care of Ourselves” week, Dr Caroline O’Dowd spend a most enjoyable morning on 26th September with junior and senior infants at the school.

She had an extremely enthusiastic and receptive audience who shared their own experiences of visiting the doctor as well as their knowledge of the medical equipment commonly used.

The school children only too happily and willingly volunteered as patients, engaging in role play to demonstrate the usage of the stethoscope and other equipment.  All the children were keen to line up to try them out or be the volunteer patient.

Dr O’Dowd and Market Place Surgery would like to extend a big thank you to Julie Deasy for the invitation to come and talk to the students and hopefully make the experience of visiting their local doctor and hospital a more positive one!
